I have been a VMWare user for a number of years, so when Microsoft bought Connectix Virtual PC, it didn't really do much for me as a customer. I had been using VPC on Macs to emulate PC boxes and it always felt like they were a bit behind the functionality that VMWare offered. And maybe I was loyal to VMWare because of its roots in the academic operating systems community.
But today I have to chip in with the praise that Virtual PC is getting from Chris Anderson, who runs early longhorn releases using VPC. There was something I was never to get done under VMWare, and that was to run QNX. It frustrated me to no end as I like QNX very much, but VMWare hardware and QNX just don't get along.
Today, in preparation for next week's trip I decided to give VPC & QNX a try. And it boots without a problem. Hallelujah! Sorry Mendel, but I afraid this is likely to be the end of my VMWare usage..
