Got Windows Server 2003 to crash without much trouble: Fire up CPUmon from the sysinternals guys. Select the floating point registers, hit 'start' and flash, a blue screen. Strange thing was that I couldn't remember when was the last timeI had one of these screens, reliability must be improving...
In retrospect I have to admit that the website says ' does not work for P4 CPUs and only on NT4 and win2k", but still, it should not crash the OS, should it? :-)
Posted by Werner Vogels at September 18, 2003 10:36 AMI guess it's not that strange since the webpage states that the application installs a device driver and as such it is not run in the same "controlled" environment as a Win32 application. It's not uncommon that a missbehaving driver crashes the system! :-)
