Late night breaking news: Pat Helland singing 'Give SOAP a change' with David Campbell on guitar at HPTS gong show. Video is here (in wmv, 7MB, 3 minutes, other formats later when more bandwith). Lyrics by Don Box
Update on 06/11/04:Pat as asked me to pull the video, because of the legal issues involved with performing a song based on someone's intellectual property. Rightly so Pat is very conscientious about this, I would like to honor this, so no more video.
Posted by Werner Vogels at October 14, 2003 02:41 AMIt's too bad that the video cuts out in the middle of my favorite verse (and that the legal code for it isn't visible).
Posted by: Don Box on October 15, 2003 02:07 AMThe silly canon camera stopped at 3 minutes. I have the second part also, as well as a partially video of Pat's song 'CPU Bound'. I'll put this stuff up when back in Ithaca.
Posted by: Werner on October 15, 2003 11:16 AMIt looks from the photos as if Pat also did a version of "Feelin' Groovy" (XML-y).
Did he do an entire set?
Are you coming to PDC - I'm pretty sure Pat is joining us for our gigs there too.
Posted by: Don Box on October 16, 2003 04:39 AMPat actually did 3 songs. XML-ey, (Feeling groovey), CPU Bound (Homeward Bound) and your Give Soap a Chance.
See you at the PDC. But first another Conference to sit through (SOSP).
