As expected starting a new job while moving the family to the other coast doesn't leave much room for writing. My days are filled with getting to know the people, the business, the technologies and the challenges. It looks like it is going to be a great time, at work as well as outside of work.
I haven't really found a new mode of writing yet. Nor have I made progress on where to host the weblog if I would want to move it away from Cornell.
I also haven't found much time for reading other people's public writings. A surprising observation is that I find myself gravitating towards reading only a core set of 10 or 15 weblogs which I read each day, and I don't really miss the other 100 or so that normally populate my aggregator. Most of this set are weblogs of friends, of fellow software architects and some interesting writers. Not too many A-list people among those...

Didn't you just insult about 100 people, several of which you consider friends?
Posted by: Fred Douglis on September 29, 2004 09:37 PMWith A-List I was refering to the list of obvious bloggers that everybody seems to have to read and link to, to become a weblog player: http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/blogparody.htm
BTW I still read the other 100, just not every day.
